I'm so glad we've had this time together, just to have a laugh or sing a song, seems we've just get started and before you know it.. comes the time we have to say.. So long
It has been 3+ years that I jumped on this weblog thing, what can I say? It has done me a world of good, improved my skills and I met a few like souls along the way. So now, it's time to move on, I will still post but not here. From time to time, I may post the same thing that I have on my new log but other than that, I'm done
Thank all of you for the feedback and the posts as well, I will be checking in...

It's two,two,two checks in one
The first week is over, and the bosses at my new job have yet to find out just how much damage I have done in just the first week here.
Things are quite different here than at the last place. The week ended with all of the employees getting their bonuses. Yours truly got zip, zero, nada cause I just started. To be fair, I did get one from my former bosses over at big Cable Company. A yearly game, Where they hand you the check, while telling you that the bonus money is kind of like your driving license, A right, not a privilege. Even better, a undeserved kindness from on high from those firmly entrenched in the top 5% of the income bracket who in their largess, have glanced down at my plebeian existence, and opened the petty cash box and sprinkled a few meager coins my way.
Not that I can’t do anything with meager coinage, I just would rather it given to me without the song and dance. A simple “Thank You for another good year” would do nicely. That way I can let next year take care of itself.
Anyhow, the guys here did MUCH better that me; they got a 100% bonus! Or for those of you who may be math challenged, they got a check equal to one full year of salary! You can bet that the parking lot will be full of new cars soon. As for me I could not even fathom what I would do with a doubling of my pay on the spot. Maybe next year…

Happy New Year!
A little late... well, a lot of late but still from the heart anyway. I hope that this first month has been a good one for you. I’m really living a time constrained life right now and I have a list of “To Do’s” as long as my arm! And as fast as I knock them off, 2 more take its place.
Still, it has been a while since I last posted so I needed to cross off this duty as soon as possible. The biggest item in my life right now is a chance to take a position with a cable company. As the readers of this blog know I work for Discovery Communications here in DC and I have been here for about 7 years.
A few months back Discovery sold one of the many channels they have The Travel Channel in order to get money to help them to go fully public. They sold it to one of the major shareholders (Cox Communications) in exchange for their shares in the parent company. So TTC has to move into their own Diggs later on this year.
They would like me to be the Office Manager and coordinate the move from Silver Spring to Chevy Chase Md.
It looks like I will take it, barring some unknown thing such as Money and the like but I do not think that Money will be a problem for these people.
On a personal level, life is rushing along at a break neck pace and shows no likelihood of slowing down soon.
That is a good as well as bad thing.
Can you believe it; I did not watch the Super Bowl this past weekend! I spent it redoing my study which has taken me about 6 months to do. I have started my winter diet that should find me at the end of it, sometime in the early spring, Looking Good! My doctor has given me a sort of clean bill of health (except that she would like me to continue to take a anti-depressant) I mentioned to her that I wished to stop taking the Prozac because it had started to make me lightheaded and caused me to really forget things that I should not forget. I know that as we age this happens, but I was really getting bad at remembering where I put stuff and would ask questions in conversations and after a few minutes, ask them again!
This was a problem in all parts of my life but it was really an irritant when I had to communicate with my son.
So to be truthful, I had already stopped taking it before I said anything to her about it. I noticed the difference within a few days, the good as well as the not so good. For an example my temper came back unabated and dangerous. on the other hand so did my clearheadedness. Thankfully that bad part was for a short time and for now I feel a lot better. My Doctor however has given me another drug “Lexapro” to take.
For now, however, I think I may wait before I do. I’m sure that at some point I will have to take it, after all it is a medical problem, and when that time comes I will but I do not think that this is the time. I'm thankful that it is the only drug I take and do not have to load up on other drugs for high blood pressure and such.
So now you have a sterilized snapshot of where I’m at this moment of my life I could write more but it will only bore you. My theme for this year is “each day better than the next!”
Just Kidding!
I’m just hoping to keep my head above water, and not to look to bad doing it.
